About the event

The growth of the funeral-industrial complex over the last century has unintentionally separated us from the intimate experience of accompanying our loved ones through the powerful passage of the lifeforce leaving the body. Join this circle of wise people of European descent for a weekend as we breathe new life into ancient practices of honoring death in simple, vibrantly loving ways. Our time together will include insights about the history of the loss of practices to tend to our dead loved ones; guided imagery to recollect the practices that lie within the layers of memory, grief, stories and dreams we each hold; and reclaiming ancient principles of practices as ground for creating tender, informal rituals for our beloveds in a home vigil.
