"For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance."
- Kahlil Gibran

Dying Well
The BARDO began as a satellite house on a nature sanctuary and has blossomed into a movement for community-supported end-of-life care. We are reimagining what it means to die well in Minnesota.
A Model Home for
End-of-Life Care
Situated in Inver Grove Heights, our home serves as an exemplary model for Bardo homes across Minnesota and beyond. Unlike traditional hospice facilities, The Bardo IGH is not a federally licensed hospice home, offering an alternative setting where individuals can spend their final days surrounded by nature and tranquility. Our model challenges conventional notions of end-of-life care by emphasizing the importance of a peaceful, nurturing environment that feels like home.

Our Mission
We aim to restore reverence to the universal experience of death, bringing more meaning, beauty, and support to every moment along the way.
Our Vision
We envision a world where death is embraced as a sacred and natural part of life. Through compassion, community, and intentional care, we strive to transform end-of-life experiences into opportunities for connection, meaning, and shared humanity.

The BARDO is a shared dream and a social impact business, supporting people on diverse journeys related to death, loss, and end-of-life. Join us as we teach and practice new ways of relating to our mortality and our purpose here on earth.
