The Bardo

About the event

This six-month intensive certificate program, primarily for acupuncturists, will teach participants to utilize Chinese medicine tools for end-of-life care. Experiential teaching modules will take participants through the Taoist philosophical view of life and death, exploring the meaning of life, different aspects of the spirit and soul, issues around grief, regret and fear, and developing the ability to stay centered during the dying process. We will learn to identify end-of-life stages, assess blockages to release and apply appropriate treatment strategies utilizing tools like acupuncture, moxibustion, herbs, essential oils and stone medicine to support individuals as they transition. This program is based on Finding Yourself in the Death Canal, the first manual providing a philosophical and practical guide for incorporating Chinese medicine at death.
