This nine-month intensive certificate program, primarily geared for acupuncturists, can also be attended by anyone wishing to utilize Chinese medicine tools for end-of-life-care. Participants will venture together on an inner journey following age-old Daoist practices of shedding the false self by preparing for death. Experiential teaching modules will guide you through Eastern philosophical views of life and death, exploring the meaning of life, different aspects of the spirit and soul, issues around grief, regret and fear, and developing the ability to stay centered during the dying process. We will learn to identify end-of-life stages, and assess and help remove blockages to help release the physical body so the soul may peacefully exit this life. Our treatment strategies will include acupressure, moxibustion, herbs, essential oils and stone medicine to support individuals as they transition. This program is based on Finding Yourself in the Death Canal, the first manual providing a philosophical and practical guide for incorporating Chinese medicine at death.

Each month, beginning February 12, 2025 will consist of one two-hour online teaching module and one "office" hour where we will discuss our own processes together. Each teaching session will be recorded. We will finish in October, 2025, followed by an optional Daoist Death retreat held in the Twin Cities area. Specific details yet to be finalized.
