About the event

Before there were hospices and funeral homes, people would tend to the body of a loved one at home, often surrounded by family, friends and community. Today, these traditional practices are being revived through home vigils and home funerals. In this workshop you’ll learn the basics of caring for your own after death has occurred. Through storytelling and reflection, we’ll explore individual beliefs and cultural traditions. We will also cover legal, financial and practical matters–including moving the body and hands-on body care–to empower you to create a beautiful experience at home.

Dates, cost and registration details will be announced in Fall 2024. If you are interested in this specific program and would like to receive information as soon as details are available, let us know.
