About the event

Christin Ament & Bardo Faculty

We live in a world where death is too often marginalized, medicalized and utterly lacking in compassion. As The Bardo’s foundational offering, this year-long certificate program explores the essential elements that help restore reverence to this universally human experience. Designed for those working in palliative care, hospice or end of life, we will delve deeply into personal and cultural beliefs around death and grief, while developing practices and tools that can beautifully support the dying process. Guest appearances by The Bardo faculty make this an incredibly rich and immersive program.

Topics include:

  • Nature-based practices including plant medicine, animal companions, herbal allies and shinrin yoku (forest bathing)

  • Rituals and ceremonies

  • Energy medicine including acupoints and meridians

  • Narrative and contemplative medicine

  • Non-pharmacological support during the dying process

  • Meditation, mindfulness, breathwork and sacred silence and self-care

  • Spiritual beliefs, social relationships, the art of listening and more

  • Managing grief, loss and caregiver burnout

Dates, cost and registration details will be announced in Fall 2024. If you are interested in this specific program and would like to receive information as soon as details are available, let us know.
